Birds on Birds, A Mixed Media Adventure!
Today’s Tidbit I failed at the background, I messed up the tearing, I had to re-work things more than once…. I even took a break at one point to scream in my pillow. BUT! In the end there’s a LOT of gooey goodness, textural layers, and many, many different techniques in this video so stay to the end and you’ll get tons of inspiration for your next project–no screaming required.

Color Combination Inspiration for Gel Printing
This week I was once again inspired by the contents of my clothing closet for this fantastic color combination and luxuriously layered gel print on rice paper. Layering is the key to successful gel printing, you will see me layer colors and patterns over and over each other. Stay to the end of the video as I explain what I call the "push-pull" effect of toning back too much color and bringing back too little color, all through layering.
Deco Foil Adhesive Options in Mixed Media

NEW! For the Birds 5x7 Masks
For Today’s Tidbit, I am using my NEW For the Birds set of four whimsical 5x7 masks (designed by me and produced by Joggles) to create a cutout shape on brown craft card stock that I will embellish with my Posca paint markers and cut out to tuck into colorful envelopes. The brown craft card stock is great for die cutting and you can add a hand-written note to the back.
Curvilinear and Geometric Layering
Today’s Tidbit I’m demonstrating one of my favorite techniques, layering curvilinear with geometric stencils and masks. NOW, when I say "geometric" I mean that loosely, anyone who knows me knows I want nothing to do with straight lines!
Never Say Never! Painted TISSUE Paper
For Today’s Tidbit I am happy to say that I’ve had a change of Art Heart! As an added bonus, I extended my technique to deli paper as well. Let’s go check it out.
